The merger between Thomas Evans (whose company began in 1869) and George MacBeth (company founded in 1872) then added one other company into the mix, the American Lamp Chimney Company. By 1900 the Macbeth Evans Glass company had plants in two Pennsylvania cities – Pittsburgh and Charlotte, and three more in Ohio – Marion, Indiana and Toledo. This neatly placed Macbeth-Evans in first place for the production of lamp chimneys in the US.</p>

It is one of the most popular vintage collectibles for people who love glassware. By definition carnival glass was produced in the United States starting early in the 20th century. It&#8217;s characterized by pressed glass in an iridescent finish. The shimmering effect in the glass came from metallic salts that were applied during the firing process (a process technically called “doping”).</p>
<p align="left">Carnival Glass was first produced on a large scale by the newly-established Fenton Art Glass Company, of Williamstown, West Virginia, in 1908.</p>
